Sundance 2018 at the epicenter of embracing conversations on diversity and inclusion
The Sundance Film Festival’s tradition for boundary-pushing programming continues: from the Me Too movement to diversity and representation in film. This year the snowy mountain town of Park City, Utah, was the epicenter of conversation around some of the most burning issues of the day.

Among the over 110 films which played at the festival are timely documentaries about trailblazing women like Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG), Netflix’s Seeing Allred, about attorney Gloria Allred who represented women in sexual misconduct cases against Bill Cosby and Donald Trump, and Hollywood actress and activist Jane Fonda (Jane Fonda in Five Acts).

WICT to host Signature Luncheon on April 4, 2018 at New York Hilton Midtown
WICT will host their 2018 Signature Luncheon on April 4, 2018, at the New York Hilton and Towers.  The event is WICT's key gender diversity and inclusion platform where industry leaders convene to recognize the achievements of the top cable operators and programmers for women to work, based on the 2017 PAR Workplace Diversity survey. 

The luncheon will be held in conjunction with the Cable Hall of Fame celebration later that evening, marking the first time the event will be staged in New York City. The 2017 PAR Top Operators for Women to Work are Comcast Corporation (Platinum), Cox Communications (Gold), Midco (Silver) and Mediacom Communications Corporation (Bronze). The 2017 PAR Top Programmers for Women to Work are NBCUniversal (Platinum), Scripps Networks Interactive (Gold), Disney ABC Television Group (Silver) and Discovery Communications (Bronze).

Retiring AMEX CEO Ken Chenault to join Facebook Board of Directors
Back in October 2017, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg met with the Congressional Black Caucus and promised Facebook would appoint a black member to its unfailingly white board in the “very near future.” That future is finally here: After 14 years, Mark Zuckerberg revealed in January that Kenneth Chenault, the soon-to-be-former American Express CEO, is joining Facebook’s board.
